A Forum on the Design and Programming of
Children’s Outdoor Spaces

With a focus on bridging the gap between design and programming, at this two-day forum you will:

  • Tour the newly opened Evergreen Brick Works including the new children’s garden
  • Choose from a selection of sessions on the design or programming of children’s spaces
  • Be inspired as designers from Canada, the US, and the UK share challenges and successes
  • Work together with designers and programmers in a facilitated charette
  • Explore Evergreen’s participatory design process
  • Participate in outdoor classroom activities led by programmers and designers

Sue Humphries will be joining us as keynote speaker and workshop leader.
As founding head teacher of Coombes School in England, Sue Humphries developed the school's outdoor landscape over the last 37 years. Coombes School has gained international attention for its creative approach to practical, multi-sensory, experiential teaching and learning. Labyrinths, gardens, sheep and geological features join together to create a rich and unique experience for students.
